Overview

A Wiss client in Northern NJ is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join their team.  The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong acconting foundation and show a willingness to be involved in all aspects of the accounting function. 

 

Role and Responsibilities

Senior Staff Accountant will be responsible for:

  1. Reports to the Divisional Controller
  2. Daily cash application and reporting for all divisions
  3. Daily sales application and reporting for all divisions
  4. Daily intercompany reconciliations
  5. Monthly close process – including account reconciliations
  6. Bank reconciliations
  7. Audit Support
  8. Monthly and Quarterly Financial statement preparation (including footnotes for quarterly reports)
  9. Back up AP and AR functions

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  1. 2 -5 Years’ Experience in Public Accounting or Comparable Experience in Corporate Finance
  2. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  3. CPA a plus

Preferred Skills

  1. Excellent Microsoft Suite Skills
  2. Able to clearly and consistently communicate with upper management and owners
  3. Knowledge of Sage accounting software a plus
  4. Knowledge of the trucking industry a plus
  5. Knowledge of CCH Workpaper Manager a Plus
