Overview

Wiss is hiring an Information Security Analyst to work with our growing IT team. You will monitor our computer networks for security issues, install security software, and document any security issues or breaches you find. To do well in this role you should have a bachelor's degree in computer science and experience in the information security field.

Information Security Analyst Responsibilities:

 

  • Plan, implement and upgrade security measures and controls
  • Protect digital files and information systems against unauthorized access, modification or destruction
  • Maintain data and monitor security access
  • Conduct internal and external security audits
  • Manage network, intrusion detection and prevention systems
  • Investigate, analyze and document security breaches to determine their root cause and assess the damage 
  • Recommend and install appropriate tools and countermeasures
  • Define, implement and maintain corporate security policies
  • Security awareness training
  • Coordinate security plans with outside vendors
  • Monitor computer networks for security issues.
  • Install security measures and operate software to protect systems and information infrastructure, including firewalls and data encryption programs.
  • Fix detected vulnerabilities to maintain a high-security standard.
  • Develop company-wide best practices for IT security.
  • Perform penetration testing.
  • Research security enhancements and make recommendations to management.
  • Stay current on information technology trends and security standards.
  • Password management and compliance 

 

Information Security Analyst Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
  • Experience in information security or related field.
  • Experience with computer network penetration testing and techniques.
  • Understanding of firewalls, proxies, SIEM, antivirus, and IDPS concepts.
  • Ability to identify and mitigate network vulnerabilities and explain how to avoid them.
  • Understanding of patch management with the ability to deploy patches in a timely manner while understanding business impact.
  • Excellent report writing and communication
  • The ability to work well independently and with a team
  • Preferred experience with Mimecast and Rapidfire tools but not mandatory
