A Client of Wiss & Company, Electrocore, is seeking an Assistant Controller who will be responsible for timely and accurate preparation, analysis, and submission (to both internal and external parties) of financial statements of the Company on a GAAP basis.  This role is responsible for the maintenance of the General Ledger and financial systems (ERP) which support such activities.

Responsibilities would include but not limited to:

  • Maintains the General Ledger for the Company and its subsidiaries
  • Oversees the maintenance of the ERP system.
  • Maintains effective internal controls over the processes and transactions under areas of responsibility in compliance with Sarbanes Oxley.
  • Oversees monthly close process
  • Consolidates financial statements of US and foreign subsidiaries. Provides financial information to management on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.  Prepares financial information for inclusion in quarterly 10Q and annual 10K.
  • Maintains stock option tracking system (Solium)
  • Implements streamlined procedures to enhance efficiency and controls over financial reporting
  • Develops a competent and motivated staff by training, counseling and delegating work effectively.

The qualified candidate will have the following:

  • A minimum of 10 years combined experience in general accounting. Prior experience as director/assistant controller required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting; Master’s degree preferred; CPA required
  • Previous accounting experience in pharmaceutical or manufacturing experience is preferred.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint skills
  • Highest standards of accuracy and precision.
  • Experience in implementation of ERP system
