About the Company

A Wiss & Company Client, located in New York City is seeking a Senior Accountant. This Digital Media company, specializes in online advertising and helping marketers reach specific audiences through its platforms and technology. Top pharmaceuticals and hospitals leverage the companies scale and targeting to effectively reach patients and health care professionals. The Senior Accountant will report to the Chief Executive Officer and assist in the oversight of the finance department. In collaboration with the CEO, the Senior Accountant role will focus on consistent processes and driving best practices throughout the finance department.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform accountings functions including, but not limited to: financial reporting, client billing and collections, balance sheet and bank reconciliations, accounts payable, payroll processing and commission calculations  
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial and management reports
  • Assist in the preparation of Budgets and Forecasts
  • Consolidate and analyze results and key variances
  • Update weekly cash flow projection
  • Maintain tax files and coordinate with external accountants to ensure proper tax filings are completed on a timely basis

Experience:

  • 5-7 years of related industry experience, preferably consulting, interactive, agency or direct marketing experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required ; MBA or CPA preferred

 

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Ability to collaborate effectively at all levels and functions
  • Prior experience with QuickBooks and or NetSuite a plus
  • A positive attitude and the ability to thrive in a collaborative agency environment.
  • An understanding of the digital media landscape and the unique aspects of the medium that impact management of business operations.
  • Sound business acumen; strategic skills; common sense
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other basic desktop applications
  • Strong interpersonal and communication (written and oral) skills
  • Outstanding organizational skills
